5.3.4 What About the No Hidden Variables Theorems?

We have already answered that objection. The no hidden variables theorems show that certain variables, such as the spin values, cannot be introduced as existing prior to their measurements, if those values are such that measurements merely reveal them. But the de Broglie–Bohm theory accounts for those measurements precisely by not assuming that those measured values pre-exist and by showing how the results of measurements emerge naturally from a theory that assumes only that particles have positions.

Bohm and Hiley [70, p. 121] give the following concrete illustration of the way the de Broglie–Bohm theory avoids the impossibility implied by the no hidden variables theorems. We define the following operators :
